In volume 19 of the manga, some of the author’s notes and sketches of this antagonist’s early concept and design were included as a bonus page, and in it, it states that she is bisexual or pansexual.

This relationship also seems positioned to present a much more positive representation of a bisexual male character.

My Hero Academia may have just taken a bold step forward with LGBTQ representation in its latest chapter. To have a queer character that is both of positive representation and being in a loving relationship would make many LGBTQ fans of My Hero Academia jump for joy.

As mysterious and aloof as Shoto Todoroki is, he's proven several times over that he has a soft spot for Izuku.

Before they fought, Shoto explained his reasoning for challenging Izuku, telling him all about his family history. Some fan-favorite Bakudeku moments include Katsuki's long overdue apology to Izuku for how terribly he treated him and their first real fight.
