No one has tried to influence me as an artist in any way, and anyone who knows me knows I wouldn’t let them anyway.
As Vávra hints in his statement, he is often on the other side of this campaign. Vavra pushed back against this claim during a Reboot Develop appearance in 2018, saying that the open-world RPG aimed to be a historically accurate representation of 15th-century Bohemia.
Why it matters: Video games will always be controversial, regardless of the reasons.
More recently, he was accused of making an "unprofessional" jab at Dragon Age: The Veilguard at a time when many were rooting for its downfall due to its inclusion of LGBT+ characters.
“So here’s a statement, but I’d hate to spoil the plot of the game for the sake of it.”
The statement reads: “The game is exactly what I wanted it to be.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 developer Warhorse Studios has responded to controversy surrounding the game involving LGBTQ scenes in the RPG.
The start of the controversy begins in Saudi Arabia, where it is being reported by VGA4A that the highly anticipated RPG has been banned from release “due to unskippable gay scenes.” These reports then prompted inquiries from some — fueled by the ongoing culture war in gaming — about these scenes. The statement doesn’t address the scenes in question, not directly at least, nor the extra controversy involving the forum bans and new code of conduct, but tackles it from a more zoomed out perspective.
So far, games that have been sucked into the gaming culture war have suffered for it, but this incident hasn’t blown up too much, which could lead to it having minimal impact.
It requires discussing the dialogue options over several conversations, with the players making the final choice.
This isn’t the only controversy the game has faced so far. 🔋
How could we improve this post?
The first Kingdom Come: Deliverance game has incurred some criticism for its lack of diversity.
He didn't go into too much detail on what this scene would include, but did say that it is "purely up to the player what decisions they make". In the replies, we can see that many are still attacking the writer, accusing him of going "woke" or "selling out".

Despite the game not being out yet, many already take issue with the fact such a scene could exist
"The game is exactly what I wanted it to be," says Vávra.
Six years later, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was officially revealed alongside a promise that it will feature a "wide range of ethnicities."

He has a history of being sympathetic to the GamerGamer crowd, going as far back as the mid-2010s. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 debuted the series’ first black character, Musa of Mali.
Fans slammed the character’s inclusion as forced and historically inaccurate, but in reality, such an addition was in response to the critics’ complaints about the lack of diversity in the first game.
